STOUTED RYE

DESCRIPTION

Our 70% malted rye, 30% malted barley mash bill, aged in brand new No. 4 charred American White Oak and then finished in Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter barrels.

TASTING NOTES

Jammy notes of plum and chocolatey malt. Brief boom of pepper in the center. Finished dry and malty.

Recommended Cocktail

MANHATTAN

2 oz Stouted Rye
0.75 oz sweet or red vermouth
Dash of bitters

Shake with ice, strain into martini glass, garnish with cherry.

 


 

TRADITIONAL OLD FASHIONED

1.5 oz Stouted Rye
sugar cube
4 dashes bitters
.25 oz water
Orange peel garnish

Soak sugar cube in bitters, add water and muddle, add Stouted Rye, stir with ice and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange peel.

 


 

BLACK WALNUT OLD FASHIONED

1.5 oz Stouted Rye
25 oz walnut simple
4 dashes orange bitters
.25 oz water
Orange peel garnish

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a rocks glass, top with an ice cube and garnish with orange peel


 

BRINTON’S BRANDY

DESCRIPTION

Tenth Ward’s original apple brandy dunked in local, fresh tart cherries. Releases every second Saturday in February and sells out fast!

TASTING NOTES

Cherry pie to the face, a teensy bit of sweetness and a little apple pucker to finish. A traditional American recipe dating back to the Civil War era! Released only once a year.

BRINTON’S OLD FASHIONED

1.5 oz Brinton’s Brandy
.25 oz orange oleo
3 dashes bitters
.25 oz water
Cherry and orange peel garnish

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a rocks glass, top with an ice cube and garnish with orange peel and brandied cherries

 


 

BRINTON’S BLOOD & SAND

1.5 oz Brinton’s Brandy
.3 oz Smoked Corn Whiskey
25 oz house rouge
.25 house orange liqueur

1 oz blood orange juice
.25 orange oleo

.25 oz simple syrup
.25 oz water
Cherry garnish

Add all ingredients into a shaker, shake and strain into a coup glass, garnish with a cherry

 


 

CHERRY SMASH

1.5 oz Brinton’s Brandy
.5 oz lime juice
.25 oz simple syrup
Ginger beer
Lime wedge and cherry garnish

Build Brinton’s, lime juice and simple into a high ball, add ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish

 


 


 

SMOKED BOURBON

DESCRIPTION

Corn grown and smoked in-house by our farmer 30 miles from Frederick in Charles Town, WV with barley grown and malted on the same farm. Aged in unused American white oak.

TASTING NOTES

Scotch like notes, wood, caramel, and then a hit of smoke, campfire and oak on the finish.

Recommended Cocktail

OLD FASHIONED

1.5 oz Smoked Bourbon
Orange bitters
Sugar cube
Cherry
Orange wheel

In a rocks glass, soak sugar cube with orange bitters, muddle. Add Smoked Bourbon and large ice cube. Garnish with orange wheel and cherry on a pick.

 


 

FIG OLD FASHIONED

1.5 oz Smoked Bourbon
.25 oz fig syrup
.25 oz water
3 dashes bitters
Fig slice and sage garnish

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a rocks glass, top with an ice cube, garnish fig slice and sage.

 


 

RUSTY NAIL

1.5 oz Smoked Bourbon
.75 oz drambuie
Lemon wheel garnish

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a rocks glass, top with an ice cube, garnish with a lemon peel.

 


 

WHISKEY SOUR

2 oz Smoked Bourbon
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lemon juice
3 dashes orange bitters
Aquafaba (or egg white)

Dry shake egg white or aquafaba, add remaining ingredients and shake with ice, strain into a martini or coupe glass
