What’s Next for Tenth Ward? 2025 Transitions

Written by Monica Pearce, Boss Lady

As many have heard, we have some exciting news! Tenth Ward is joining forces with Fordham Lee Distillery from Middletown, MD to combine our production operations. This move will allow us to cut down on overhead, build financial stability, and set the stage for an even stronger future. Because this facility has the capacity to take on both operations, we will be selling most of our current production equipment. Please see the listing link here.

Tenth Ward and Fordham Lee both align in vision, production processes and more. While our product lines are different enough that we don’t compete with each other, we are still putting plenty of whiskey away for both brands, and both happen to have qualities and expertise in our systems that allow our businesses to complement each other.

We are mutually excited about the opportunity and can’t wait to see how it all comes to fruition. Tenth Ward is keeping some of our equipment and more importantly our canning line so we will continue to both distill and can in house. Just at a different spot!

WHY THE CHANGE?

The past few years have brought a lot of economic changes to our industry, and it’s been our priority to make sure Tenth Ward continues to grow in a way that is strong and sustainable.

Here’s what’s important to know:

Our cocktail bar and tasting room, event space, wholesale channels, club memberships, etc. are not going anywhere—they’ll continue to operate proudly under the Tenth Ward brand.

Our core product line remains the same, will continue to be locally produced and will continue to be locally sourced. Yay for Frederick County farms!

If anything, this shift gives us the resources to make your Tenth Ward experience even more amazing. Look out for some exciting upgrades comin’ at ya!

INFO ON THE EQUIPMENT

The production facility located near the Frederick Airport is for sale at turnkey, also the equipment is relocatable. The system includes sourced equipment, mechanical/electrical/plumbing/steam installations and a facility design that would take a start-up years and extensive cost to curate.

From our 2,000 liter hybrid pot and column still manufactured by Specific Mechanical in British Columbia all the way to floor scales, transformers, chillers and mop sinks. You have it all. The warehouse includes two garage doors, (one with a ramp and one with a loading dock), 2 office spaces with separate conference room, shared bathrooms with another business, pallet racks, packaging area, trench drain for production and more.

Additionally, with the equipment sale comes our time! Based on the agreement, we are willing to provide a number of months of free consulting on the system so that whoever comes in is up to speed. We want anyone who is excited to get into this industry to be successful!

Thank you to our community for being supportive over our almost ten years. The Tenth Ward team is here to stay and we are super looking forward to a new transition!
