Winter (Liqueur) Is Coming…

And unlike the eighth season of a particular HBO series that shall remain unnamed, this final release of the year won’t leave you disappointed. Winter Liqueur is returning a little earlier this season so you can enjoy it even longer during the upcoming cold months. This savory, yet bright and spicy spirit is perfect for sipping around a warm fire, livening up your favorite cider or hot toddy, or even mixing up in your winter sangria. Winter Liqueur makes a comeback on Saturday, November 28. You know the drill. From 12-10 pm we’ll have spirit tastings, full pours, tasting flights and bottles available for purchase. So swing your sexy self on by and pick up a bottle of your favorite winter hooch.

What is Winter Liqueur

Formerly known as “Holiday Liqueur,” Winter is our fourth and final seasonal liqueur of the year. Like our other three seasonal spirits, it starts out as an apple brandy made from local apple cider from McCutcheon’s Apple Products. Afterwards we infuse the brandy over the course of two weeks with everything “winter” you can imagine: Red sandalwood, mace, dried cherries, rooibos tea, white peppercorn, vanilla, hazelnut, and allspice.

You will notice some smooth and warming notes of cherry and vanilla, all anchored by bright spice from the mace and red sandalwood. It’s the perfect balance of fruit, spice, and sweet. It’s what we like to call “winter in a bottle.”

Recommended Cocktails

Winter Hot Toddy

1.5 oz Winter Liqueur
0.5 oz honey simple syrup
0.25 oz lemon juice
2 whole cloves
Hot water
Cinnamon stick
Rosemary sprig

Pour first four ingredients into a mug. Top with hot water and garnish with cinnamon stick and fresh rosemary sprig.

 Winter Mule

1.5 oz Winter Liqueur
0.5 oz orange oleo
Ginger beer
Fresh rosemary

Pour Winter Liqueur and oleo into a highball glass. Fill with ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with fresh rosemary.

Code Red Velvet

1.25 oz Winter Liqueur
0.25 oz Orange Liqueur
0.75 chai vanilla simple syrup
3 dashes chocolate bitters
0.25 oz lemon juice
Whipped cream for garnish

Build cocktail in rocks glass. Fill with ice. Garnish with whipped cream.
